Walking Together toward Reconciliation

Several members of Our Redeemer Lutheran participated in the May 1, 2025 Salmon fry release at Skaha Lake, where, immersed in Indigenous ceremony, 5000+ salmon fry ("fry" is the name given to the young fish once they have hatched), raised by local school children were released by the 600+ children and the local community into Skaha Lake. A beautiful experience to be present for the ceremony and the passing on of ancient tradition, the education of children and of community...and a deepening awareness of the strong connection between creation, cycles of life, and care of creation.
